A seminar on the implementation of the new General Data Protection Regulation was held on 24 October 2017. The event was organized by the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the participation of representatives of the Commission for Personal Data Protection. Presentations were made on the new aspects and changes to be introduced with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which will enter into force on 25 May 2018. The Regulation has direct effect in each EU Member State. The participants in the meeting reviewed and discussed the new penalties set out in the GDPR and the practical measures for the introduction of the new rules by the companies concerned.
